I am sharing a case study that helps measure the revenue contribution of how products are embedded in the blog articles of a website.


Nectarmedicalvapes.com is a D2C e-commerce website that specializes in providing dry herb vaporizers. Catering to a niche audience, they publish many blog articles educating their audiences on various aspects of medical vapes. It is critical to monitor the revenue generated by these articles as a KPI.


The blogs are used to promote products. Products are promoted on the blog page in two formats, i.e., 2 product grid and 4 product grid.


The client wanted to understand which products are being brought from which blog and which particular product format. 2 product grid or 4 product grid.


After considering all viable solutions, two stood out, i.e., programmatic and template-based solutions. We used the programmatic approach using the GTM Javascript variable to pass two parameters, i.e., URL and display format type. This approach helped us to provide the client with the appropriate data.
